PPSEAWA Papua New Guinea
PPSEAWA PNG is a bit slower this year as we have been attempting to get a constitution registered with our governmental agency overseeing NGOs. Once the constitution is finalised and a national launching of the organisation is done, things will really pick up as we have a legal mandate to operate formally.
Our Maradana Village project on sewing is continuing. In addition to our members fundraising, we received $500 and fabric from the members of the PPSEAWA-New South Wales Australia group. PPSEAWA PNG greatly appreciates this support which will also begin to fund a literacy program in the same village.
The Pacific University Student Spouse Training Program begun by PPSEAWA PNG was halted due to lack of funding. The University has included the program under its funding for the future.
