PPSEAWA International

International Bulletin - Spring 1997

President's Message

Dear Sisters in PPSEAWA, As I write, it is pouring rain and unpleasantly chilly outside, but the trees are turning green and spring is coming!

Annotated copies of the new by-laws were sent to the Presidents of every National Member Association and to all members of the International Council several weeks ago, and should all have arrived by the time you read this. If anyone has questions or problems regarding the by-laws, they may be sent to me or to the Chair of the by-laws Committee, Marge Wilson, and we will try to clarify them for you. (Mrs. Clavin Wilson, 618 Corey St., Maumee, OH 43537, USA.) Any Association which wishes to discuss or amend any part of the by-laws at the Conference should inform me about their wishes as soon as possible. Since the by-laws have very recently been worked over very thoroughly by Council, by me, and by our attorney, I would hope it would be possible to work with them as they are for at least a few years, to give them a fair trial.

National member Associations should have sent their nominations for international officers to the Secretary, Akari Yamada, by May. Additional nominations may be made at the Conference, if necessary. (Akari has a new baby boy and a new address. It is Mrs. Davis Yang, 2722 Payne St., Evanston, IL 60201, USA.)

Any Association which has something it wishes to put on the Agenda of the business meetings of the Conference should notify me about it soon.

PPSEAWA-Malaysia has certainly done a splendid job of planning what looks like a wonderful, exciting conference. I look forward to seeing as many of you as possible in Kuala Lumpur.

Sincerely,
Betty-Lou Girardi
