Asia Connect Update - Internet Information
The connection we have with other ogranizations and NGOs on the Internat. If you do not own your own computer, find a contact in a university or sign on the net at a public library or public school community education program, which offers an opportunity to use an existing fascility.
One way to find other NGOs is to search the keyword non-governmental. Another way to find the lastest news or announcements of meetings and conferences is to use the name of the organization. Most of the NGOs have a site name which ends in .org. The stated goal of the UN is to become "paperless" as soon as possible. How soon will we, PPSEAWA, give up paper-based publications and just post our news on the net, with the capability for members and chapters to download and copy the news as needed? Let's do some planning for the future.
Check out our site at www.ppseawa.org We now have between 20 and 30 visits per week. The number has been growing. Consider this: it may be possible to register for the 2000 Conference in the Cook Islands via the net.
