Women, The Family And Health

Dr. Sorosh Roshan

Dr. Sorosh Roshan, Coordinator of the General Well Being Committee of ICW and President of the National Council of Women of the USA, gave a general overview of the program. “Good morning. On behalf of the National Council of Women of the USA, I bring greetings to all, in particular NCW of the Argentine, our hosts. Also thanks to the ISID for their help in bringing this meeting together. There are 112 years of history of the ICW. Our ancestors were ignited by the need to help other women in poverty and the inequalities of life. Women do the nurturing, women do the work but women do not receive the benefits. Those women in attendance here today are the privileged of the world. We are educated. There is no country of the world with true equality. Our topics today include HIV/AIDS, nutrition, safe motherhood, infant health and survival and elimination of all violence against women. I will serve as your moderator.”
