Wall Hanging
As a token of appreciation for representing us as our International President, Ginny Schilcher presented a wall hanging from PPSEAWA, U.S.A. to International President, Dr. Elizabeth-Louise Girardi at the PPSEAWA 20th International Conference. The applique was made by Sharon Vass, a member of Toledo Chapter. This unique sample of American folk art is composed for the most part in the national colors of red, white and blue.The "Red Cardinal" is the bird for the State of Ohio and the "Eagle," of course, the national symbol for beauty and strength. It also reminds us that PPSEAWA is active in working to help protect and improve the environment.
The "Friendship Star" variation represents how Dr. Girardi has been a part of PPSEAWA to promote family and child welfare.
The "Flag Heart" shows the love of PPSEAWA, U.S.A. for other cultures and their protection.
The "Ocean Waves" connect us to women of a the Pacific and Southeast Asia to foster a greater understanding and friendship.
The "Ohio Star" for Toledo Chapter and Dr. Girardi's membership is a link to other chapters and the establishment of new members.
Many hours and love went into making this applique with "Heart 'N Hand." It also represents the love in our hearts for her.
We are strengthening alliances for a better world towards the 21st century in the "Kuala Lumpur Floral Heart" at the 20th International Conference in Malaysia.
We thanked her for her hospitality and generosity in the "Tea Cup" for the many times she has opened her home for meetings of PPSEAWA.
