The USA Cultural Presentation at the Malaysia Conference

With an introduction that ended, "You will see PPSEAWA USA members wearing the dress of their foremothers so you all can see the differences and similarities that went into this great melting pot and blending of all sorts of pieces and parts to create our country.

We hope you will be moved - as we are daily - at the ability of the human spirit to be nourished and strengthened by so many different peoples, all working together - sometimes in harmony - often times not - to create the beloved country we call HOME!"

Across the stage they paraded: beginning with Betty-Lou Girardi, dressed as a pilgrim of the Massachusetts Bay Colony, who told of her 13th back grandmother Priscilla, Miles Standish, and the man she married, John Alden. Followed by: Marge Wilson, early American; Royal Buscombe, earliest and still current American; Ada Kolmodin, French Canadian; Lorna Chang, Chinese; Toyoka Kametani, Japanese; Ginny Schlicher, Hungarian; Sabath and Adeline Talip- grandaughter and grandmother, Lebanese; Christine Loo, Malaysian; Berniece Husted, Scottish; Corinne Pearson, Swedish; Edith Hugentobler, Swiss; and closing the presentation; Teresa Hintzke, USA president; Polish.
