World Peace Day

PPEAWA International Day of Peace
15 December 2010

People have been writing, painting and talking about Peace for hundreds of years. Unfortunately, in contrast to this much has also been spoken, written and painted glorifying war. We all know it can be very lonely speaking up for Peace and at times we may feel that no one is listening to us. Some years ago the PPSEAWA International Council decided to set aside a day each year as the PPSEAWA Day of Peace. Following much discussion it was agreed to support the UN International Day of Peace on 21st September each year.

The PPSEAWA Japan, Tokyo chapter, held the International Peace Day meeting at the Tuda Hall in Tokyo on September 17th, 2009. Over twenty-five people attended the meeting. This year first time a member from the Active Senior, a collaborating partner organization, also participated the meeting to share the value of world peace with us.

Saturday, 11th September, 2004:

We organised a PPSEAWA Day to precede the World Peace Day. On this day, PPSEAWA Fiji was able to invite members of the various communities in Fiji to show them what PPSEAWA is all about and we also used this opportunity to have a membership drive. Photographs and posters donned the walls of the venue to advertise PPSEAWA.

Three members who attended the Singapore Conference reported on the various aspects of the conference and the rest of the delegates performed their cultural item and also sang the 'Peace Song'.
