The Pan Pacific and South East Asia Women’s Association of Thailand (PPSEAWAT) in collaboration with Jirasat Wittaya School in Ayuthaya, officially launched the “Peace Begins at School” project on 10 June 2025. The event was honored by the presence of Ms. Chavali Osathanugrah, President of PPSEAWA Thailand, and attended by over 100 Grade 5 students participating in the program.
In her remarks, Ms. Chavali emphasized that the “Peace Begins at School” initiative seeks to foster peace, empathy, and a respectful learning environment. A key objective of the program is to raise awareness and address the growing issue of bullying, which continues to be a significant concern in educational settings.
Through this initiative, PPSEAWA Thailand and Jirasat Wittaya School aim to instill values of kindness, mutual respect, and peaceful conflict resolution among students—ultimately contributing to a safer, more inclusive, and harmonious school community.
The June program was widely accepted by students and school administrators and teachers. They have asked PPSEAWAT to be back. The next event will take place on 10 November 2025 for 200 junior high school students. We are aware that in this increasingly fragmented and divided society we have to instill in the hearts and minds of young children the importance of peace.
