From Our USA President

The conference in Bali was a great experience for me as your USA President. The welcome I received from all the delegations was unbelievable. Bali is beautiful and our Indonesian hosts made us feel like valued guests.

My first duty was to help with the International election; our own Teresa Hintzke was elected as International President and Taina Woodward as International Secretary. Congratulations to them both.

24th PPSEAWA International Conference, Session 2: "Our Young Women, Our Future"

entitled "Our Young Women, Our Future” was developed by the Youth Ambassadors nominated by PPSEAWA’s International Council: Angela Lee, Kate Morioka, and Akari Yamada. We deeply appreciated the opportunity to share our voices and concerns during the conference program.

As an average college student, Bali was a place I never expected to visit. Yet when my mom invited me to accompany her to attend the PPSEAWA Conference this past summer, it was an opportunity I couldn’t pass up. After all, who would say no to a vacation in paradise?

It turns out this trip to Bali was not your typical vacation of sightseeing and relaxing on the beach… it was something far better. The majority of the time there was spent at the conference- attending meetings, discussions, presentations, and simply getting to know one inspiring group of women.

I was honoured to attend the 24th triennial Conference of the Pan Pacific and South East Asian Women's Association (PPSEAWA) in Bali May 18-23 2010. The theme of the Conference this year was “Fostering Peace through strengthening unity in diversity” with a follow up discussion on “Our young women – our future.” PPSEAWA International was very pleased to have reestablished contact with Pakistan.
